Sugestions Please

I am running my 5.1 d8b into my PC and tracking into Cubase. This eliminates being able to use my d8b plugins post tracking. I am looking for suggestions on an alternate routing method or possibly purchasing an HDR or something. I do not know much about the MDR's or HDR's but it seems to be the common pairing with the d8b.

Thanks!

try running the track back to the d8b via your lightbridge applying the fx you want then re-recording the new effected track. Once this is done you will need to realign the new track with the original one.

Not sure how to assign the cubase audio track back to the d8b. How might I do that?

Thanks for your response!!!

I will tell you how I do it in cubase 5, should be quite similar to cubase studio 4.

I go to device manager and activate all the inputs and outputs of my audio card.
Then I go to VST connections and set up the inputs and outputs to the desired tracks. You've probably already done this for your inputs just need to do it for your outputs.

ex: mono 1 to adat 1, mono 2 to adat 2 ect....

Since your Lightbridge handles 24-32(cant remember off hand) I/O of lightpipe you should be able to assign your track and have it come into the d8b on the tape in layer. Now you can process the d8b FX you want and then re-record that track.

On a side note, In doing this it will also allow you to bypass having to mix in your DAW and use the d8b like you would if you had a MDR or HDR.

If you have any problems PM your phone number and I'll see if I can help you as your sitting at your desk.
