No V5.1 display

My mixer starts booting but before it gets to the V5.1 the monitor goes black and only shows the mouse pointer, I can move the mouse and I can get sound, in other words the mixer works ok just no display of files, channel or track levels, just a black screen with a mouse pointer, please help me, thanks in advance.

I would reinstall the OS. This is a very odd one.

Thanks Peter, I tried to reinstall V5.1 but every time I tried I was geting smething like memory extraction error, anyway... after many tries i decided to change the hard drive and that solved my problem, thank you very much for your help.
