Effects issue

I have changed over D8b's, copied all the plugins, factory/user effects etc to floppy and loaded them back into their respective folders into the D8b I am going to use. Everything works fine but when I load in a project I get the message "Some data was not mapped/loaded. FX cards are missing or not in correct slots.

I have checked all the folders and they are the same as my other D8b, also the cards are correct...any ideas?

Phil

try loading/booting the MFX(s) first, then load/boot the UFX(s) last..

Then load your session.

BTW, how did you copy the file?

using Mercrium will image the floppy
more accurate.

Thanks I'll try that later.

I copied the file via Desktop, HD to Floppy and Visa Versa.

i went through something similar when i purchased the UFX card.
i got a usb floppy drive and
http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
(recommended by a site mod @ sonido7.com)

it does a TRUE one for one copy. and it's free.

but the insertion of each card allows the D8b to update each one individually versus a batch.

sorry for the previous misspelling of the software

How did you transfer the data from the cpu to the USB drive?

BTW the loading of the effects prior to the project works :)

are both d8bs the same version of software?

are you wanting to transfer everything from the old to the new?

Both are v5.1, I have done the transfer from old to new via floppy.

the drive on the old D8b needs to be
imaged to your pc

the image then needs to be put on your new D8b drive.

those saves on the floppy will not contain ALL the needed nfo to merge smoothly to another console. ur gonna need a ide adapter.
if you were only going to do a clean reinstall then your floppy method would be okay, but to transfer any type of fx settings the new d8b needs those subparameters that are written to the drive while your actively performing edits, fx, etc.

I've got an ide adaptor, so..the CPU HD needs to be plugged in to a pc, what will then be shown and what needs to be copied etc?
