view d8b hard drive on windows computer?

I've seen references to using IDE to USB adapter to backup session files.

1. Can this be done? I have tried to look at 2 different drives that have the Mackie Digital 8 sticker and the only way I can see anything about the drives is in disk management and all it says is "unknown not initialized 516.04 GB unallocated". This drive I am trying to look at now is the original Fujitsu drive in my machine and was working however, the power company send brown voltage down the line on 3 occasions in 4 days. This knocked me down. I have 2 sessions on this drive that I would really like to recover and I assume I have some corrupt files in the OS but hoped to see the sessions. I had another drive that I formatted and installed Ver. 3.0 224. to get the system running again.

Any help here would be appreciated.
