Forum SMTP Server - WTF

Postby doktor1360 » Sun Jul 06, 2014 5:49 pm

Sort of off topic: Per the Subject

WTF is with the SMTP server for this site... I've had outgoing 'mail' in the Outbox since June 28th... this isn't normal by any means. So, if you're expecting a reply from me I'm certainly not the issue here...

Peter, perhaps you can flush the outgoing mail queue?!?

Thanx in advance...

Peace

Kewlio, Topdiggy... not that your mail isn't being pushed along, but that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue... ;)

FWIW:

This issue is a non-issue, in reality, it's not actually an 'emai'. The software (phpBB) running the forums id designed to do this. The 'Outbox' won't clear until the message recipient actually reads the message sent. This allows the sender to edit/delete/whatever up to the point where the message is actually read. Been a while since I've implemented a phpBB solution, so My Bad for not catching up on the s/w specs...

So in nutshelll, if you pm'd another forum user, it'll remain in your 'Outbox' until it's read on the other end...

All is well in Mudville... ;-)

Peace
