Or flip the fan upside down? The fan is rotating in the correct direction for the curvature of the fan blades.

You should be OK, that connector will only go onto the 3-Pin bird post jumper one way, IIRC... I have Fractal R2's (50mm hydraulic bearing) fans installed in both my D8B and HRD 24/96. They're EXTREMELY quiet and will last a LONG time. They're a 'No Brainer' snap-on install onto the existing heat sink, too. Just be careful removing the old fan assembly...
