This an issue that does not resolve with a reboot?

I believe we solved this back in May on page 4 of this thread.

Hi captainamerica

have you had anymore hiccupps or freezing since you glued
the ribbon cables down. mine doe's the samething it will run a month
then it will freeze I go and push down on the ribbon cables
and it runs for another month. just getting tired of having to open her up every month
it gets old fast.

thanks joe allen

Hi captainamerica

can you tell me how you got in there to glue
the ribbon cables. its tight in there how did you get the glue
on both sides of the three main cables there is one thats at the power source
one side is hard to get to I was just wondering how you or anyone else that has
glued it got on both sids of that one ribbon cable. that one is the one that keeps
getting loose on my d8b.

thanks joe allen

I actually tried all kinds and best seemed to be crazy glue. I used that on some key power connectors and applied that via tooth pick!

thanks for the fast reply. so your still hic up free.
so crazzy glue will be okay to use. I was thinking that it would
eat out the ribbone connectors part for some reason. Im just
tired of having to go in there every month and push the cables down
its starting to get old fast. I never had this problen till about two
years ago. that is it doing this every month. it would do it about
every year or so. thanks for the help.

The glue works but it's only a band-aid solution.
I had to send me board in for some serious maintenance fixes this month after 12 years of wear and tear. Lots of my cables were actually "oxidized" and I had the same problem that you were having the last year or so. The guys at S&X http://www.sxproaudio.com/ did an amazing job cleaning and fixing everything. You may want to give them call and chat about your problems.

Hey Guys,

I just read through this thread and thought I would add my experience to the post should any of you be interested
I had the same problem approximately every month when I first purchased the board. I was going inside pulliing and pushing all the ribbon cables into place, at least the ones I could get my hands onto every 4-5 weeks. About two months ago I did something a little different. I actually removed all the big ribbon connectors including the ones right at the back where the large power cable connects to, and decided to tap the sides with a small headed hammer to force the female pins inside them to close firmlybor tighten within the connector. I did this because at the time the D8B was open, the glue I ordered hadn't arrived yet. I know this may seem an unauthordox method, but since replacing them snuggly, the board hasn't played up once. The glue arrived a couple of days latter and I still haven't used it on either of my D8Bs, that's not to say that I won't some day in the future, but up until now it hasn't been needed. In my case I believe expansion and contraction due to heat and cold playing its part in the studio may be the culprit, but I'm monitoring the issue and hopefully things remain as they are ;)
