Thanks

My cables are not glued down, on occasions I've fixed a problem by reseating them even though the connectors had not come apart, so don't assume that everything is ok because they're glued and can't move! The d8b does odd things :o

Froze up again...aside from the BNC and Master/Slave relationship suggestions, would you also recommend swapping out the Apogee card for a "stock card" if that doesn't resolve it?

BTW I did what you suggested and made the d8b SLAVE to WordCLock from my 2408
The system ran for 5 hours without any issues?

Thanks, I am grasping at straws here....

The stock card suggestion was just for troubleshooting purposes. It is fairly worthless when the rig is being used with other digital gear.

Crash

Did it again tonight!!!. I had switched the Apogee on the D8b as SLAVE from my MOTU 2408 as MASTER (use to be the other way around). Did not notice anything different...d8b still freezing intermittently
However, tonight I noticed that when I tried to hit my M1 Keyboard, the d8b would freeze up...so I am not so sure it's clock related

Carlo - the glue that I used is from the forum's suggestion: Dow Corning RTV Sealant 739

I uploaded a video that I did tonight in attempt fix the problem. I *assume* this is issue and will let you know tomorrow once the connectors dry from the sealant I just applied.

Wow... a video. I am impressed. Those are the very cables I was referring to and they are a weak link in the console. The problem is that there is not really a surface to glue them down like the other ribbon cables in the console as they sit down inside a housing with the header being flat and quite glue-able, as you have seen and done. I am sure you have come up with a way to get them glued and I hope this turns out to be your issue. Even if this is not the issue, you are making progress by ruling out what it isn't.

Are you firing up your d8b before any other piece of gear and letting it fully boot?

Yes, I am. I always boot d8b first as the MASTER.
I will check things out tonight when I get back and let you know how it goes!

BTW: I didn't find a way to upload the VIDEO but happy to send it if it adds value to the forum.

Thanks again for the suggestions
