version 5.1 Authorisation issue

Discussion board for Mackie's d8b Digital Console users.

Not so sure, Frank. I asked them to give me my codes again and all were correct except for OS 5.1.
It's the 5.1 generator I've been talking about in this thread. If memory serves correctly, the plug-ins are not tied to the board's ESN chip like the OS is. I will try and confirm this.

From what I gather, no one here has had a problem obtaining S/N's to get the plug-ins to authorize successfully....just the 5.1 OS.

Yeah, all the plugs are tied to the ESN as well.

100% Dead Nutz On, Frank...

My issue is a faulty Unlock Code for the V5.1 OS itself...

Weekend results!
1- I removed the Id chip successfully and reconnected it with a piece of wire
2- The console is like dead if you connect an analog breakout cable to the host communications port ;-)
3- Luckily this does not break anything
4- The ESN with the data line open reads as ffff-ffff-ffff
5- The ESN with the data line sorted reads as 0000-0000-0000
6- The id chip is queried only once during system boot (about halfway through the d8b splash screen phase)

Where to go from here?
Since the Mackie os asks for authorization anyway, the easiest way would be to find a code for the ffff or 0000 ESN - this would require only a minimal (and reversible) hardware modification. If we cannot find these, I will go on and create an id emulator.
Can anyone provide me with a working ESN / key pair for testing?
I have no code for my own working d8b, bought it used with all keys missing...

I connected an AIO breakout cable to the console data port by mistake. Made me quite jumpy - I thought for some time I had killed my brain... It just sits there, pfl master led on, and the brain board LEDs blinking in some undocumented way...
