These routines will fix the jumpy pots.

Try and avoid the last fix but if all else fails, go there.

The database can tell you how to do the following.

1. Flip the desk over and do a complete ribbon cable clean and re-seat, also while at it, clean all the edge connectors on any/all plugin cards you have installed.

2. Undertake a complete re-calaboration of the faders.

3. If you have it, try re-installing the OS, just in case something has gone wrong.

4. Delete any sessions that have been stored and establish a new start-up session.

Hope this helps a bit.

Update.

-The ctrl key thing fixed the jumpy pots!
-I created a new session on it and havent seen any twirling pots/flashing lights since.
-I check all the mic inputs and they work fine. Although there's a slight crackle noise when I press the mic buttons but only on pressing them on and off like a dirty connection or something.

Still got 2/3 sticky faders and need to do the ribbon clean thing + recal.

The board also has 3x AIO-8 cards in it. Think I got a right bargain paying £560 for this.

Would WD40 work? I've used this for the electrics on my bike before. Obviously won't try it until I know whether it's possible to use it.

Don't use WD40 whatever you do!!! Too much oil in it. Isopropyl Alcohol is the best. 99.9%. Caig DeoxiT is also a good contact enhancer.

Progress.... There can be a few things that cause sticky faders. I had one that would stick to the top of its' throw and when I upgraded software from version 3.0 to 5.1 it remedied it. I have no idea why but it did. The faders run on small bands of rubber so it is possible that they have slipped over time.

I wouldn't worry about the crackle when swithing from mic to line (or back) on the pres. I have a channel or two that does this but once the switch is is down for mic, or up for line, they give me no sonic troubles.

Also. Where do I find this: 2. Undertake a complete re-calaboration of the faders.

Can't find it on the database.

I believe that he means calibrate the faders via the fader calibration button in the set up-> Mix Opt. window.
