It is possible that there is an issue with the CPU. THere was another guy on here in the last week or two that had a Hard drive that was giving him grief. It might have been doing something similar now that I think about it. He replaced his HD and was back on the road.

OK, here is that thread... while not the same, it is an odd one I had never seen before.

Hopefully you are not watching the death throws of a dying motherboard...

Replaced the HD! I have looked and looked for a couple of suitable spare replacements, one for cpu and one for my caddy as this is now full with backups....DOES ANYONE HAVE A LINK TO WHERE I CAN GET THEM

Looks like Ebay has a slew of various sizes. It is hard to find the smaller capacity drives that we need at the retail stores on line or local anymore.

BTW: Before I attack this from a HD point of view, I just wanted to add this bit of info

When I click the "TAPE" or "LINE" faders on CPU side, the monitor/screen flips back and forth with no issues but the faders on the d8b side do not move. Doesn't this indicate an I/O issue between CPU internal and D8b internal?

Maybe... could be a power issue inside the console... could be a commuication issue at the brain board. It is hard to troubleshoot this one via the net.

You don't have "fader motors off" selected in the master section by chance? That would show the faders at their GUI position but if you physically moved them down, they won't physically move with a bank switch. Just something to check.
