OK, that sounds rather like the desk sending out signal at 44.1 and the HDR recording at 48 (note the 4 kHz difference in relation to my earlier post!). This confirms that something was (is?) not setup correctly in your sync chain. Now both devices might be set to the same (48?) frequency manually, but if sync is not ok then you'll get occasional clicks or pops in the sound material - obviously at the worst moment, as per Murphy.

If sync is setup correctly, then it should not matter what frequency is set on the desk, the HDR should adjust automatically (or vice versa, depending on the setup). I suggest you get someone knowledgeable in syncing to have a look, at your earliest convenience...
