I just unhooked the monitor and the key board
to see if it was the video card its still rebooting
and it says no signal. if it was the video card am I right to say it
would not show any picture at all because it shows v5.1 on the monitor
if it was that card it seems like it would not show anything.
the only other thing I know to do is what crash said the hard drive or the
mother board I have the hard drive I just got from eric russ. if its the
mother board then I gees I am in trouble. anyone know anything else
I could try thank for any kind of help.

Sorry Joe...

Do you have another drive available?!? I would check that next - you're correct in regards to the video card; if you can see the v5.1 splash screen it's loaded basic video support (something the OS recognizes). Next in the chain is the boot disk... I'd try reinstalling the OS on another disk drive, just for Shitz n Grinz and to verify the integrity of everything that's involved in the whole process. IMHO, it'd be worth the time (and personal knowledge gained)... :geek:

Hope this helps... post back the results...

Oh... and you knew it was coming, so here it is:

thanks everyone for your help

I just put another hard drive in and that took care of the problem
its funny how this happing because I just got one of the old
hard drives from eric russ just last week I got one for the hdr too
I also got the ribbon cable that keeps working loose. now if I can just
get it put on maybe my d8b will be back in good shape. I hope so anyway
thanks again for all your help.
