No Fader Function at ALL, Ever

Postby Tweek » Sat Aug 14, 2010 8:12 pm

So, I've recently jumped on the D8b bandwagon and am liking it a bit so far... problem is that I can't get the faders to do ANYTHING. when i move the manually, they sometimes (usually) move on screen, changing banks screws everything up. The faders try to drop down, but usually don't go all the way down when I move banks, and when I move back to the original, the faders only partially move back to their correct location : (E.G. ch1-24, moving faders 1 and 2 up on the board sometimes take a few moves fully up and down to get them to be recognized on screen, sometimes the move in correct sync, as U=U. and then moving to the next bank ch 1&2 drop from Unity to somewhere between -10 to -35 ish, but never all the way, and going back to the original bank, nothing happens.) the only time i have motion on the faders is the FIRST time i jump banks, but never again.
I only used 1&2 as an example, this is the exact same with all the channels, buses, subs, FX sends, everything. it doesn't matter what it is.

Ok, so far I have:
Re-Calibrated the faders DOZENS of time, using different fader starting positions (usually down all the way) each time.
I've rebooted after different re-calibration sequences and reset different banks, I've tried jumping banks while booting, I've Reloaded the OS (5.1) Many, Many times, Reset drivers, Re run Calibration, Rebooted, and Reset Calibration again.
I've replugged ALL the plugs, I've ATTEMPTED to run frolicking faders (obviously no luck...) just for fun, to see if i get ANYTHING, and never... It won't even load... (totally different issue?) I've tried re loading the BIOS, OS, Drivers, Channel Presets, Saves, Everything that can be reloaded, I've reloaded...

Do I have a Bad Board??

HELP!!!?!?!?!!!!

Are you sure you are starting with a clean slate?

Reloading the OS doesn't delete old session files and that could have something to do with it.

Apply this technique.

Secondly, did you reformat the HD when you reloaded the OS?

Follow these instructions to get a pristine OS install.

Also, make sure "fader motors off" isn't engaged.

In the scheme of things, there isn't one... just chaos.
