Lookin' like some sort of specialty, multi-parallel port type cable... I've been in the hi-tech industry since '84 (hw,sw, fw), and I've seen things similar, mostly custom one-offs, but never anything like this...

Go figure, it's anyone's guess... ;)

I have at least one of these in either my cpu's or HDR's, can't remember which. The centre connector is not connected to anything.

The pins are different on what you speak of which is the ribbon cable for the floppy/HD. These look like they would be same as a db25 connection on an AIO.8 card.
