In mt HDR I have 3 -OPT8 and I have 3 DIO 8 cards in my d8b...

So my question is, can I hook these up using the optical connections?

Sure, just be aware that the DIO.8 card inverts phase on the way in and again on the way out. This was done in regards to an ancient ADAT protocol and never changed. Some users get their panties in a bunch over it, just be aware of it. If you never leave your rig, it probably won't affect you. Even if you do, you'll probably be alright.
