D8B Fader Jitter?

Postby livefromheaven » Tue Jan 21, 2020 5:12 am

Hi all, have been experiencing issues with my D8B connected to Cubase via the ProBox (Mackie Controller). The D8B seems to function fine, but the faders inside Cubase are jumping +/- 1dB without touching the physical faders. Just wondering if anyone has fixed this particular problem before or advice on where to start troubleshooting. Video attached below:

Update: I cleaned all of the connectors on the brain board with ISO alcohol and re-seated all cables leading there - turned it back on and no change. It seems to run fine for the first 15-20 minutes of use, but after that is when the fader jitter begins. Does this seem like a power supply issue? What else should I look at next?

I would think you need to research the Cubase side of the equation. I am not familiar with the workings of the Probox, but is it possible that there no issue with the actual faders on the d8b?

As Crash said, run the D8b on it's own just to prove the point.

Unfortunately I do not have a way to run the D8B in standalone mode anymore as I don't have the Mackie operating system installed (hard drive crashed). I do not think it's a Cubase issue as I've repeated the same results in Reaper (see attached screenshot). This is a history of the faders sending MIDI activity without anything touching it:

Another update - I bought another Computer unit and everything seems to be working correctly again. I'm guessing it was an issue with the voltage going into the D8B.
