Nothing to do with D8b's but it might be of interest to a few here.

Prof. Paul Rossiter of TVS in Australia builds replica sounding copies of the early 1960's Meazzi drum echo units, also Binsons, Long Tom's etc, his website is basically all about Hank Marvin's early guitar sound, but there's a section there where he compares the sound of my early 60's Altec 436c compared to Abbey Roads RS124 plugin, here's the outcome:-
