System 43 - Host did not Boot Message......

Postby captainamerica » Sat Feb 23, 2019 10:54 pm

Got this message today and of course the first thing I thought was to changed MB BIOS battery...interestingly, when I pulled the battery out for a quick measure, I had a reading of 2.7V and initially thought it must be something else - perhaps the HD. I almost did not change the battery but thought, what the heck, I may as well put a new one in while I have the cover off. The system booted fine afterwards. Curious to know if this voltage level is on the cusp for system errors. At 2.7V, I was surprised to see such an aggressive small margin of error.

A multimeter pulls virtually no load and the battery voltage will read much higher than when the battery is in situ and feeding a few bits and pieces.

Sometimes System 43 is just a boot glitch, I've had this many times, it usually rights itself but re-seating the BFC can sometimes solve it.

Hey all;

For me, sometimes turning it off, then on again gets things going.

As Anyhorizon stated, a battery meter is way better than a volt meter. Both work as well as you get the exact voltage under a load.

Glad things are working.

yes, should of remembered the "load" factor and measured it hot as oppose to cold! Thanks everyone
