14+ years on a D8B?

I have probably some of the first mixes ever done on a d8b

I guess I can top that. Did the first digital multitrack recordings and mixes on the D8B using that proto in NYC. Recorded an interesting and talented guitarist named Vicky Genfan and her band. We used those recordings for the first show demos. Used DA-88's for that.

Didn't Vicky Genfan win Guitar Player magazine's contest for best undiscovered guitarist recently???

Just found this old thread. I've had mine for 20 years this year! Unforutnatly I just powered it up for the first time in over a year and got the "ERROR: DSP Control Card Not Ready" problem. I'm looking for the fix on the forum now.....

+18 years and still my main mixer, along with 4 MIDI Mackie Control surfaces

I bought my D8B just over 2 years ago and have only had to clone the hard drive as a back up, otherwise it has been great. It's also fun to use and the mixes sound less compressed and more transparent than when I mix in the box. I paid £650 for mine and it is in great condition. Very underrated mixer due to bugs and reliability in the early days. Also looks great in the studio too

1997. Fixed the power supply.. once. Got the upgraded motherboard. Swapped the drive.
